General Labor Helper / Outdoors Job

IMMEDIATE OPENING!

Shift:

1st - 7am until 3:30pm

Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

Currently seeking General Laborers to work in the department of Public Services for one of the cities in the Grosse Pointe area.

Only candidates that closely meet the requirements will be accepted

The ideal candidate will have prior General Labor experience and physical ability to perform duties.

Type of positions:

• Seasonal to permanent                                                                                                                                  (Please note some of the positions are form March-December every year, if you are required to go back next season we should be able to offer a temporary job until the season starts again)
• Permanent year round

Possibility to get hired in by the city or to apply for other jobs posted by the city on this department if an opportunity becomes available; it all depends on your attendance and work performance

Requirements of the General Labor Worker

• Must have a Valid Driver's License (you might be driving the city trucks)
• Recent Landscape, Factory work or related physical work experience is required and must be present on your resume.
• Must be able to start immediately
• Must be able to work under extreme weather conditions
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach and lift
• Pass a background and drug screening
• Able to provide 1-2 professional references
• Any type of work shoes or boots are required

Responsibilities of the General Labor Worker

• Perform light landscaping activities.
• Recollection of recycling materials.
• Load and unload materials from work trucks.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization and safety.
• Other general labor duties related to maintenance as required
